Eighty percent of the time, you’ll find me in front of my laptop, working on one project or another. I often get tired, but after a while, I go back to it. My mind is so fixed on finishing what I started, on seeing the results. I’ve been doing this for a few years now, and at some point, I had to pause and think, “Really? Is this how I want to live—spending my life in front of a screen?”
But then I realized: if I shifted my focus from the fatigue, this drive could produce something good in me. On one hand, there’s the zeal to see a project finished; on the other, there’s the willingness to invest my time, energy, and resources to make sure it turns out well.
I know I’m only human, and I do get tired, but I’m always looking forward to the next big project.
To bring you into the picture, I want you to know that you are God’s big project. For God, who neither sleeps nor slumbers, tirelessly works on you so that you can see the gifts He’s given you to bless your world. He has equipped you with everything you need—everything pertaining to life and godliness—so that you can live for His glory.
In the same way I’ve come to value relentlessly pursuing my projects, God sees the good in us and chooses to work on us daily (if we allow Him). Just as a leader expects excellence, God has provided all the resources you need to do His work and live life excellently. He expects results.
So, what’s the next big project? I am, you are, we are.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10
The only way to access the resources provided to build yourself up is to partner with God by giving your life to Him and surrendering. Everything you need for life and godliness is found in Him. You are God’s big project—allow Him to work in you and do good works through you.
As you go about your day, even in this very moment, declare: “I am God’s project. God is doing good works in and through my life.”
Surrender to God and allow Him to make a name for Himself in your life.
With love,
Your Sister in Christ, A Fellow Big Project
