How would you feel if, at the end of your life, you realized that everything was a lie? All the need and the drive to make money, to be the richest, the most successful, to own the best houses and the best cars.
How would it feel to know that it was all a temporary façade, distracting us from what truly matters?
The life we have here on earth is simply temporary; every part of it will fade away. Then comes eternity, a life that everyone will experience; it just depends on where your eternity will be spent. Yet for some reason, no one seems to be preparing for eternity, while everyone is hustling so hard for this temporary life of, at most, 130 years.
Imagine preparing intensely for a midterm test, but doing no preparation at all for the final exam. It doesn’t make sense, right?
Well, that is how the majority of people are living their lives.
We are all working hard, hustling, and struggling to build a beautiful life for ourselves here on earth; a life that is temporary and will fade away after we pass on from this realm.
Some even go through extreme lengths, doing things that are questionable or wrong, just to achieve this “beautiful” life, at the expense of eternity.
No wonder Scripture says:
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” ~ Mark 8:36
In all honesty, can we stop pouring everything we have into this life alone, and start preparing for eternity?
Would you rather choose the safety of life in Christ for eternity, or live however you please and risk ending up on the wrong side of eternity?
If I were you, I would choose life.
Because imagine choosing the other path, only to realize on the last day that it was all a lie.
And then… it’s too late.
“Earth is only but a market place, Heaven is home. No one sleeps at the market, we all have to return home someday.”
From a baby girl immensely in love with God.
